The Rule
There is one rule that keeps the 7.9 billion people on the earth fed, and Joe Biden broke it
Since WW II, the US created a worldwide economic system with the dollar at the center of a relatively free trade regime that had the benefit of expanding the trading graph of just about every human on earth. Despite the areas of valid criticism of this system such as it being over-centralized and dependent on a fiat reserve currency, it did manage to lift over one billion people out of extreme poverty in the last 30 years.
Managing this system requires maintaining one rule above all else, do not restrict the flow of goods, capital, and services between willing traders. This is the rule that keeps all 7.9 billion of us fed. This is such an important rule that the system is set up to be resilient to ham-fisted decisions by world leaders. Despite their best efforts, presidents from Bush to Clinton to Bush to Obama to Trump were all incapable of breaking the rule.
Joe Biden has managed to break the rule. Granted, he is standing on the shoulders of mental midgets, but his colossal failure to appreciate how close the world was to breaking the rule and his blatant disregard for following the rule has destroyed the rule. We are facing worldwide shortages in everything from basic commodities to high-tech manufactured items. In a year when lowering trade barriers and resuming production should have been the highest priority, the Biden administration chose to restrict trade and production while stoking a war between Russia and its neighbor.
We are going to experience a worldwide famine this fall. We in the US are going to experience it as price inflation but the poorest places on earth are going to go hungry. All of the progress of the last 30 years is going to be wiped out.
Maybe it is time to look at the US political system and ask why it has become the most expensive way to find the least competent people in the country to make decisions that they have no business making. Why is the world dependent on a deluded old man that thinks he can control what nobody can understand?
